Direct Autism Services

Ready2Learn offers direct school-based services for student identified with autism spectrum disorders. Using a variety of research-based methodologies, including principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Ready2Learn is able to teacher academic, social, and behavioral skills to students in concert with school personnel. Ready2Learn also provides direct instruction and consultation to school staff in teaching techniques for students with autism spectrum disorders.

Direct Autism Services are often comprised of:

Assessment

  • Careful review of current and prior IEP goals and objectives/benchmarks
  • Collection of baseline data to insure proper skill targeting
  • Observations of the teaching environment, routines, and schedules
  • Reinforcer assessment to determine effective motivators for each child

Education

  • Discussion with staff of educational and behavioral goals, teaching techniques, and implementation procedures
  • Explanation and modeling of discrete trial teaching as well as data collection procedures

Planning

  • Discussion of prompt hierarchies to promote the goal of student independence
  • Planning of a reinforcement schedule based on predetermined motivators

Intervention

  • Discrete trial teaching of specific academic, social, and behavioral skills
  • Generalization of skills through incidental teaching
  • Implementation of positive behavior plans when needed
