Psychological Assessment

Ready 2 Learn also offers comprehensive psychological assessment services for students and their families. Often, such assessments are sought to gain information regarding a child's learning profile of strengths and challenges. Assessment involves the process of gathering information about a student with individual testing being one component of that process. Assessment services often include:
Assessment
- Family interview to gather background information and to discuss areas of concern
- Review of educational, medical, and other records as needed and allowed
- Completion of a structured developmental history for a thorough understanding of the child's life
- Formal and informal observations that may occur at school, home, or in the community
- Individual testing designed to respond to areas of concern and answer specific referral questions - individual testing may include:
- Cognitive processes
- Memory and learning
- Attention/self-regulation
- Executive skills
- Language
- Visual-spatial processing
- Social/emotional/behavioral functioning
Education
- Assessment results are compiled and presented in a comprehensive psychological report
- The assessment process is completed during a feedback session with the child's family and Ready2Learn staff where results can be explored, questions asked, and recommendations offered
Planning
- Intervention plans can be developed by Ready2Learn as needed based on specific assessment results
